Rig

Meaning: Provide (a sailing boat) with sails and rigging.

Example: “The catamaran will be rigged as a ketch”.

Synonyms: equip, kit out, supply, outfit, furnish, accoutre, array.

Antonyms:  doff, unrig, disrobe, divest.

Pact

Meaning: A formal agreement between individuals or parties.

Example: “The country negotiated a trade pact with the US”.

Synonyms: agreement, treaty, entente, protocol, deal, contract.

Antonyms: disagreement, misunderstanding, discord

Unarmed

Meaning: Not equipped with or carrying weapons.

Example: “He was shooting unarmed civilians”.

Synonyms: defenceless, without weapons, weaponless, wide open.

Antonyms: armed, protected.

Podium

Meaning: A small platform on which a person may stand to be seen by an audience, as when making a speech or conducting an orchestra.

Meaning: Prevent access to or from an area or building by surrounding it with police or other guards.

Meaning: A person who physically attacks another.

Meaning: surround (a place) with armed forces in order to capture it or force its surrender.

Antonyms: let go, leave alone.

Unimpeded

Meaning: Not obstructed or hindered.

Example: “An unimpeded view across the headland”.

Synonyms: unrestricted, unblocked, free, open, clear.

Antonyms: impeded, obstructed
